Role Summary
The Delivery Architect holds single-point accountability for the technical integrity of the solution, encompassing architecture design, technical delivery quality and fit-to-standard discipline across every workstream (Finance/Supply Chain Management, Field Service, Human Capital Management, Data, Integration and Security), from Discovery through go-live and into service transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solution architecture across all workstreams, ensuring technical coherence and consistency of design across the programme.
- Maintain architectural governance, ensuring that architecture decisions are formally documented and traceable prior to implementation.
- Uphold fit-to-standard principles, ensuring configuration is favoured over customisation unless a clear, approved business case exists.
- Chair or substantively contribute to the Solution Design Authority (or equivalent architecture governance forum), ensuring architectural decisions are made through proper governance.
- Evaluate and recommend the appropriate integration architecture approach for the solution, articulating the technical and business rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide architectural leadership and support to delivery teams, minimising the need for direct intervention in day-to-day design or configuration activities.
- Collaborate with the Programme Director, Senior Project Manager and workstream leads to ensure architecture decisions align with delivery objectives and timelines.
- Present architectural approaches, progress and key decisions to client stakeholders as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in enterprise solution or data architecture roles.
- Extensive experience with Azure data platform architecture at programme scale.
- Senior-level experience delivering Dynamics 365 programmes, ideally spanning multiple modules (Finance & Operations, Field Service, Customer Engagement/Dataverse).
- Demonstrated ability to own and defend architecture decisions consistently across multiple, concurrent workstreams.
- Working command of medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data architecture principles.
- Deep experience with modern integration platforms, e.g. Boomi and/or Azure Integration Services, together with the ability to evaluate and recommend the most appropriate approach for a given solution and to discuss the trade-offs in both technical and business terms.
- Experience with standard project management and service management tooling, e.g. Jira and ServiceNow.
Preferred / Desirable Skills
- Awareness of Microsoft Fabric and the Dynamics 365 Copilot/AI roadmap.
- Experience with phased or accelerated transformation approaches, including validating future-state capabilities ahead of a formal decision gate.
- Experience designing the technical components of Application Managed Services (AMS) operating models, including handover packages and operational runbooks.
